Overwhelmed (But Not Broken)
Overwhelmed
The last few weeks have been tough.
Life is naturally busy and messy. But when you’re someone who says yes to things, takes on projects, and fills life with hobbies and side ventures — like me — it can quickly tip into overwhelm.
That’s where I’ve been.
When you feel overwhelmed, everything starts to pile up. You feel like you’re going backwards instead of forwards. Every little thing that goes wrong feels magnified. Self-doubt creeps in. Sometimes you feel like quitting altogether. Or just running away.
Sound familiar? Maybe you felt it last week. Maybe you’re in it right now.
So how do we deal with it? How do we navigate our way back?
Little by Little
The first step is rational. Step back. Look at what’s going on. Yes, some things may have gone wrong — but what’s still working? What progress have you already made?
Then break it down.
“How do you eat an elephant? Little by little.”
I love that phrase. And when I remembered to apply it, it worked.
The moments when I stopped looking too far ahead and just focused on what was in front of me — not tomorrow, not in an hour, but right now — things shifted. I did the thing in front of me. Then the next. Then the next.
I’ll be honest: I didn’t get it right every time these past weeks. Sometimes I looked too far ahead and the overwhelm came rushing back. But when I did keep it little by little, it worked. Progress appeared. Step by step.
Share It
The second step is less rational, but just as powerful: talk to someone.
When we’re overwhelmed, we tend to withdraw. And I did that too. But the moments I chose to share what was going on, the weight eased.
No one had to fix it for me. Just saying it out loud, having someone listen, being met with kindness — it helped. Every time.
Trust
And finally, trust.
Trust yourself. Trust that if you take it little by little, if you share the weight instead of carrying it alone, things will improve.
That’s really what I want Navaia to be about — a space where people reconnect with themselves. Sometimes it’s through a blog like this. Sometimes it’s through a coaching call. Sometimes it’s an adventure that strips away the noise and helps you reset completely.
Different paths, same aim: helping you feel more alive.
I haven’t been perfect at this recently. Far from it. But in the moments I applied these simple rules — little by little, share it, trust — things did get better. They helped me keep moving when I felt like I couldn’t.
And that’s what I’d pass on to you.
Overwhelm doesn’t have to break you.
Little by little, step by step, with support and trust — you can find your way to the other side.
