Ocean Reborn
A Transatlantic Sailing Adventure
Cross an Ocean. Discover Yourself.
This is more than a sailing trip. It’s a rite of passage. Join us on a life-changing voyage across the Atlantic.
Gran Canaria to St Lucia or St Maarten to Gibraltar (via Bermuda and the Azores).
Where deep transformation meets the deep blue.

The Journey
4–5 weeks. 3,000 miles. One wild, unforgettable crossing.
This is Ocean Reborn: a modern-day ocean crossing aboard a proven bluewater yacht, part of the legendary ARC (Atlantic Rally for Cruisers). We depart from Gran Canaria with 100+ other boats and arrive—weathered and wide-eyed—in the Caribbean island of St Lucia.
You’ll be part of a small crew aboard my Hallberg-Rassy 43, a vessel built for exactly this kind of journey. I’ve made this crossing several times, and I’ll guide you every nautical mile. You don’t need sailing experience—just commitment, curiosity, and a spirit of adventure.
There will be challenge. There will be awe. And somewhere between sunrise watches and starlit squalls, something in you will shift.
-
The Transformation
Lose sight of shore. Find a new sense of self.
Crossing an ocean isn’t just a physical feat—it’s a psychological one. It’s a full reset, a deep unraveling, and a rare chance to sit with yourself in uninterrupted time and space.
Out at sea, you’ll encounter weather, wonder, and the wild unpredictability of nature. You'll learn skills, stand watch, sail through squalls—and likely face some inner waves too.
Through it all, I’ll be there not only as your skipper, but also as your coach. We’ll reflect, talk, journal, and help you process what this crossing reveals. Because while you’re sailing west, you might just be coming home to yourself.
-
Community & Support
You’ll never be alone out there.
This voyage is part of the ARC (Atlantic Rally for Cruisers), organised by World Cruising Club. That means you’ll be crossing the ocean as part of a fleet of boats, supported by land teams, radio networks, and shared social experiences before and after the journey.
From provisioning parties in Las Palmas to beach celebrations in St Lucia, you’ll be part of a global sailing community—while still having the intimate depth of a small-crew experience on our boat.

What to Expect
Each year, we sail across the Atlantic twice—once west, once east. These are more than just crossings; they’re deeply transformative journeys that blend challenge, connection, and awe.

FAQ
Q: Do I need to know how to sail?
No. You’ll learn what you need along the way. Enthusiasm and teamwork matter more than experience.Q: Will I be seasick?
Possibly—most people are at the start. But the body adapts quickly. We’ll coach you through it.Q: Is it safe?
As safe as ocean sailing gets. We sail conservatively, monitor weather daily, and stay within the ARC fleet for added safety and support.Q: Can I stay on in the Caribbean?
Yes. Many participants choose to travel on after we land in St Lucia. We can help with onward planning.Q: Why is this called 'Ocean Reborn'?
Because once you’ve crossed an ocean under sail, something fundamental shifts. You’ll never look at land—or yourself—the same way again.
